Meet the Doctor
Dr. Karri Cardinal has been practicing chiropractic in downtown San Francisco since 1999. With experience and an open mind, she is committed to promoting the health and well being of her patients.
Dr. Cardinal is certified in an advanced spinal correction technique called Clinical Biomechanics of Posture (also known as Chiropractic Biophysics or CBP). CBP is "state of the art," having more published research than any other chiropractic technique. She is one of three chiropractors in San Francisco trained to do CBP and the only one with advanced certification. Never in the history of chiropractic have we been able to provide safer, more comfortable and more effective correction methods.
Dr. Karri Cardinal graduated magma cum lade from Life Chiropractic College West in 1998. While at Life West, she was the first female president of the CBP club. As the club president, she taught other chiropractic students the theory and application of CBP. She earned the “Commitment to Excellence Award” in 1997 for this achievement.
Dr. Cardinal taught CBP and Advanced CBP at Life Chiropractic College West (2006 to 2009) and Palmer West (2003 to 2005) at the direct request of Dr. Don Harrison and Dr. Deed Harrison. For this she was awarded the “Chiropractic Biophysics Outstanding Achievement Award” in 2006.
Her hobbies include reading, hiking, karate, and playing with her young son, Jacob.
Catherine is a nationally certified acupuncturist and Chinese herbalist, licensed in California and Connecticut. She earned her Bachelor of Arts from Skidmore College, a Masters of Science from American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and several post graduate certificates, including an advanced study credential in Acupuncture and Herbal medicine from Zhejiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in Hangzhou, China. In addition to various hospital, clinic internships and apprenticeships in California and abroad, Catherine worked for four years at Spring Wind Dispensary, a Chinese herbal pharmacy in San Francisco.
Her unique approach to healing the whole individual includes massage therapy, nutritional and lifestyle counseling, and other modalities with acupuncture and herbal medicine. Catherine practices Tai Chi and Push Hands, enjoys art, travel, cooking and the outdoors. Also, she volunteers at the Charlotte Maxwell Complementary Clinic working with women with cancer.
